Sulaimani Polytechnic University announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Iranian University of Elam, indicating that it focuses on joint cooperation and exchange of experiences, especially in the field of oil and energy.
This came during a ceremony held on 6 July 2017, in the presence of the President of the SPU Dr. Alan Faridoon Ali Amin and President of Elam University Mohammed Ali Akbari, and the presence of representatives of both parties.
During the joint press conference ceremony, the President of SPU said that the memo is part of the University’s keenness to strengthen its relations with its local, regional and international counterparts to establish its position on the international scientific and academic map. Oil and energy .
Dr.Alan praised the role of the Iranian consulate in the Kurdistan Region in strengthening bilateral relations and extending bridges of communication between the Kurdish and Iranian universities. He expressed the hope that the memorandum will contribute to serve the two universities, especially after the formation of a joint committee to implement the terms of the agreement.
It is noteworthy that the SPU already concluded about 50 agreements or memorandum of understanding with various scientific institutions and academic local, Iraqi, regional and global.
And President of the University of Elam, stressed the importance of promoting scientific and academic cooperation between Iranian universities and their Kurdish counterparts calling on universities to contribute to the development of their local environment and improve the scientific and technical reality in them.
The signing ceremony was attended by vice president for Scientific Affairs Dr.Soran Saeed and vice president for Administrative and Financial Affairs .
